FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why should I contact you to buy electric infrared heaters?

Our 25 years of experience in electric infrared heating has taught us that each project is unique. That’s why we work closely with users, electricians, architects and designers. Indeed, the choice of devices and the type of control will be greatly affected by the use of the space, the size of the space, the electrical capacity, etc.

Our equipment must be installed by qualified electricians and their involvement from the beginning of a project is necessary for success.

Are the devices rainproof?

Absolutely, the majority of our devices can be installed indoors or outdoors. In fact, we have even completed several projects in car washes! Your electrician will make sure to use the right connectors for outdoor use.

How do I choose the right appliances for my space?

At Technirep, information gathering is the basis of all the projects we carry out. The number and type of devices will be influenced by a multitude of factors and for this reason we assist customers from the beginning of the project until the material is shipped.

What voltage is used by the devices?

We offer 120V, 208V, 240V, 480V and 600V units. Let our experts guide you to the right choice of device.

Does the electric infrared heater require ventilation?

No, our heating systems can be used both indoors and outdoors since they do not emit any harmful gases.

Is an electric heater more expensive to operate than a gas heater?

In Quebec, we have access to a low-cost renewable energy, hydroelectricity. This means that the operating costs of an electric heating system are generally less expensive than a gas system.

Why choose an electric radiant heater over a gas heater?

Simply put, electric heaters are better looking, more efficient and easier to use and maintain. Some types of electric heaters are over 90% efficient (which is 2-4 times more efficient overall than natural gas or propane) and are perfectly safe for indoor or outdoor use. They are also economical in use and require little maintenance beyond periodic cleaning. Unlike gas heaters, there are no valves, ignition components, moving parts or burners to maintain or repair. In addition, electric heaters produce no noise, no odor, and no toxic emissions.

Electric heaters also offer additional mounting and installation options. They can be recessed into a standard 8′ ceiling using our flush mount frame. When installed above ground, they hang within 9-1/2″ of the ceiling. The most commonly used overhead gas heater requires a minimum ceiling height of almost 10′ and when installed correctly, hangs almost 24″ below.

An electric heater is also easier to use. Enjoying electric comfort heat is as easy as flipping a switch. You can adjust the intensity of an electric heater to infinity, from zero to 100% power, using our power controls. Gas heaters, on the other hand, only produce infrared energy when they are set to maximum.

What is radiant heat?

Radiant heat works like the sun. Instead of warming the air around you, it warms people and objects. This makes radiant heat a more efficient heating source, as it is less likely to be affected by wind.

Radiant heat is the most natural heat source, using the same operation as the sun.
