Infrared heating solution for car washes.

A forced-air heater becomes totally ineffective in an environment with high air circulation, such as a loading dock with several garage doors, or in a car wash. The best way to heat this type of space is with infrared heating. Infrared is effective in these environments for two reasons:

  1. By first heating masses such as the floor, heat accumulates in it and is gently redistributed throughout the space. Warmth is retained and felt, even in draughts.
  2. Infrared produces direct, instant heat, so users under the units enjoy comfort even with garage doors open.

Advantages of electric infrared heating for car washes

Resistant to wet environments

The quartz lamps and stainless steel casing of the MTM series allow them to be used in humid environments, and they can be bathed directly in water.

Effective in spaces with high ceilings

Many car washes or heavy vehicle washrooms have high ceilings. These spaces are ideal candidates for infrared technology.

This allows buildings with high ceilings to be heated efficiently, without wasting energy heating the air that rises to the ceiling. Infrared first heats masses such as the ground and people.

Immediate heat for occasional use

With infrared, there’s no need to maintain a high temperature all day if the area is only used for a few hours a day. Infrared produces instant heat, making it comfortable for occasional use of the space.
